Automata Universalis is a particle simulation that develops deterministically based on conditions set at the beginning. Every user chooses his personal start configuration and gets a unique simulation. This consists of a two-dimensional field, which is attached to the edges, and of particles which exert gravitation on each other, a fluid-particle simulation, cellular automata and particle tails.
Inspiration are real cosmic events and phenomena, cellular automata like 'LIFE' or 'Rule 110' and particle simulations like the 'N-Body-Simulation'. Conceptually, the work deals with the question whether the universe is deterministic and one can predict or simulate all events at an arbitrary time if one knows the conditions at time 0.
